Welcome Message

Dear Members of the Korean Society of Food Preservation and Distribution (KoSFoP),

As the eventful and dynamic year of 2024 comes to an end, the new year of 2025, the Year of the Wood Snake (乙巳年), dawns with fresh hopes and aspirations. May the bright energy of this new beginning bring prosperity and fulfillment to your families, institutions, and all your endeavors. I sincerely wish you a happy and blessed New Year where all your aspirations come to fruition.

At the 45th International Symposium and Annual Meeting of the Korean Society of Food Preservation and Distribution (KoSFoP), we gathered under the theme “Digital FoodTech Initiative and Beyond: Innovation for Sustainable Future Foods” to discuss high-level scientific and technological advancements in various fields, including food preservation and distribution, convenience foods, functional foods, alternative foods, and food upcycling. The symposium saw a significant increase in participation, reflecting both the qualitative and quantitative growth of our society.

Additionally, we have made continuous efforts to elevate our academic journal to an international standard by changing its name from the Korean Journal of Food Preservation (Korean J. Food Preserv.) to Food Science and Preservation (Food Sci. Preserv., FSP).

The 46th International Symposium and Annual Meeting of KoSFoP, scheduled for August 27–29, 2025, will be held in the picturesque port city of Yeosu, renowned for its scenic coastal views and romantic night sea. Under the theme “Transforming Food Science with Next-Gen Technologies: From Concept to Application,” this three-day symposium will feature distinguished scholars and industry leaders (including CEOs) who will share the latest research and trends in food preservation, processing, and distribution. It will serve as an excellent platform for academic and professional networking. The event will also include workshops, poster presentations, corporate exhibitions, oral presentation competitions for master's and doctoral students, a job fair, and a Capstone Design competition. Notably, in 2025, we are planning to host a Korea-China-Japan Joint Symposium, sector-specific biotechnology symposia, and various committee-led workshops and symposia.

We sincerely appreciate the invaluable contributions and generous support of our members, institutions, and sponsoring companies, which have enabled the Korean Society of Food Preservation and Distribution to evolve into a leading global academic society in the fields of food industry, food processing, preservation, distribution, and interdisciplinary research. We kindly ask for your continued engagement and unwavering support in our future endeavors.

Once again, I extend my heartfelt wishes for a prosperous New Year filled with happiness and success.

Sincerely,
Kang Sung-Kuk
President, Korean Society of Food Preservation and Distribution (KoSFoP)
